After serving as a soldier in the Korean War in the 1950s, Lee longs for nothing more than to start a new life with his wife Muriel. Their destination is the sunny West Coast of the USA, California. Muriel also finds this prospect enticing. However, the seemingly perfect facade begins to crumble when Lee´s brother Julius appears. With his charisma, he increasingly captivates Muriel, and she becomes more and more involved with him. But not everything that glitters is gold.
